Sound Competition

Bring your vehicle’s sound system to the Off-Road Affair & Overlanding Sound Competition! Show off your setup, meet fellow audio enthusiasts, and take your turn in front of the judges.

Basic competition rules

  1. Register and check in. Entry is $20 per vehicle. Complete the signup form and payment, then check in with event staff before your assigned turn.
  2. Use the designated competition area. Park where staff directs you, keep the vehicle stationary, and follow instructions about engine operation and electrical equipment.
  3. Play only when directed. Keep sound at a reasonable level outside your judging turn. Stop or reduce volume immediately when staff asks.
  4. Follow the judging procedure. Judges will explain the classes, scoring method, demonstration time, and any microphone or listening positions before judging begins. Follow the same procedure used for your class.
  5. Keep people clear. Keep spectators away from speakers and equipment during loud demonstrations. Hearing protection is strongly encouraged.
  6. Bring a safe setup. Secure speakers, amplifiers, batteries, and wiring. No loose equipment, exposed live wiring, or unsafe power connections.
  7. Show good sportsmanship. Respect other competitors, staff, and spectators. Threats, harassment, or interference with another entry are not permitted.
  8. Respect staff decisions. Staff may pause a demonstration or remove an unsafe entry from competition. Raise scoring questions respectfully with the judges.
